ROCHA

Meet Rocha, he lives in one of our smaller village towns of only a few thousand people. Living unlike most in the community still with both his mom and dad at home, he is the middle child of two older siblings and two younger. He’s watched the dreams of his older siblings fade away with the harshness and realities of life: drugs, alcohol and abuse. This was the path he was headed down, the only thing he knew. Until, God.

Even though drugs and alcohol, abuse and despair pursue his generation and haunt the generations past, Rocha has found in MARKED purpose and passion. He found what his heart had always been longing for. Jesus. Today, his younger siblings are seeing a new dawn as Rocha stands in the gap for his family.

His passion is soccer. He proudly shares his name with his favorite soccer player, and has dreamt of playing professional soccer since he was old enough to know there was such a thing. He is the captain of our team, a leader on and off the field. He feels his purpose is just that, being a leader. He leads teams of volunteers on construction projects, he leads his family in values, hopes, and dreams for the future. He leads his peers on a path away from the chains of poverty and complacency. And is hungry to know all he can about the Jesus that saved him. He has been MARKED.
